What to expect
A new way to build Shrek
LEGO and Universal Products & Experiences are launching Shrek in LEGO form for the first time. The sets draw on DreamWorks Animation’s well-known films and celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary. For fans, it means a chance to return to the swamp and Far Far Away in buildable form.
Both sets combine recognisability with building enjoyment. They include details that nod back to the films and several small references for those familiar with the characters and scenes.
The launch targets both adult collectors and younger builders. That means the Shrek universe receives two different expressions, but with the same core idea.
LEGO Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots
The adult set is a display set with 1,403 pieces. It contains built figures of Shrek and Donkey plus a Puss in Boots minifigure. Everything stands on a base depicting the swamp, with the sign "Beware Ogre!".
The set also contains details such as sunflowers, an onion and a blue flower with red thorns. Inside Shrek’s stomach there are hidden Easter eggs. This gives extra discoveries for those who build and take a closer look.
The set measures 24 cm high, 21 cm wide and 16 cm deep. It is intended for adult builders from 18 years and suits as a display model.
LEGO BrickHeadz Shrek, Donkey & Gingy
The BrickHeadz set is aimed at children from 10 years and contains three figures: Shrek, Donkey and Gingy. BrickHeadz are stylised collectible figures with a square head and are built in LEGO format.
Here the focus is on clear character features. Shrek’s ears, Donkey’s smile and Gingy’s icing buttons are visible in the builds. The set also includes a "Beware Ogre" sign that ties into the swamp environment.
With 259 pieces it is smaller than the adult set and quicker to build. It suits both as a playset and as a small collector’s model for those who like Shrek.
Background and launch
LEGO describes the collaboration as the start of more Shrek content in LEGO form. Universal Products & Experiences also highlights that the sets contain several details and narrative elements that fans can discover.
Both sets can be pre-ordered directly. They are available in LEGO stores and on LEGO.com from 1 June 2026.
