LEGO launches a new set that pays tribute to Tintin. The model depicts the famous red and white‑checkered rocket from the adventure Destination Moon.
Tintin's moon rocket belongs to LEGO Ideas , which is a platform where ordinary people can submit ideas for sets. If enough people vote for a proposal, LEGO will consider it, and the proposal can become a real product available in stores.
SNOT technique stands for "Studs Not On Top". It means building to the sides or upside down instead of simply stacking pieces on top of each other. It gives smooth surfaces and rounded shapes without the typical LEGO studs showing everywhere.
The rocket looks like it does in the books and stands steady on three legs. Part of the upper wall can be removed. Inside there is a control room with space for one figure.
The box contains six figures: Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and the detectives Thomson and Thompson. All wear their classic space suits.
LEGO has set an age recommendation of 18 years. This is because the build requires patience. But the result is a beautiful display piece. It fits perfectly on a bookshelf next to the comic books.
When was the set released? It was released in spring 2026.
How big is the rocket? It measures over 49 centimetres in height.
Which figures are included? You get Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus as well as Thomson and Thompson.
Is the rocket difficult to build? Yes, it uses advanced methods and has many pieces, so it requires concentration.
Can children play with it? It works best as a display piece, but it has an internal control room for play.
Are there other Tintin sets from LEGO? No, this is the very first official collaboration.
Why is the rocket checkered? It follows the design from Hergé's books where the rocket has the well-known red-and-white pattern.
