Sound, battery and performance

Headphone (a) uses 40 millimetre titanium-coated speaker drivers. The headphones play back high-resolution audio via LDAC, providing better sound quality with compatible devices.

The battery lasts up to 135 hours with noise cancellation turned off. With noise cancellation on, the battery lasts up to 75 hours. Five minutes of fast charging provides up to five hours of listening.

The active noise cancellation has three levels: low, medium and high. A transparency mode lets in ambient sound so you can hear what is happening around you.

Nothing Headphone (a) is also available in white.

Comfort, design and controls

The headphones weigh 310 grams. The ear cushions and headband use ventilated memory foam that moulds to the shape of your head, providing comfort during long listening sessions.

The model is available in black, white, pink and yellow. The yellow version is released as a limited edition later than the other colours.

To keep the price down, Nothing uses plastic in the ear cups instead of glass. Comfort and features are nonetheless the same as in the more expensive model.

Physical controls are located on the headphones. A toggle button changes track and a scroll wheel adjusts the volume. The scroll wheel also functions as a button.

Calls, durability and price

Three microphones capture your voice during calls. An AI, trained on 28 million noise scenarios, filters out background sound so that the recipient can hear your voice more clearly.

Headphone (a) has an IP52 rating . The construction is resistant to dust, sweat and light rain.

Pre-orders open on 6 March and sales begin on 13 March. The yellow colour goes on sale on 6 April.

Alongside Headphone (a), Nothing launched the phones Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro .
