When it was time to build a new machine, the first idea was to continue with Intel as one is used to.
However, they have become very expensive.
The choice was finally between Intel i5-9400 and AMD Ryzen 2600.
Availability and price finally made the decision and I did not just say that it seems a bad choice.
The processor works great with both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04.
However, one should keep in mind that graphics are missing from AMD's processor. In this way, the Ryzen 2600 should actually be compared to Intel i5 -9400F (not i5-9400).
You have to have a motherboard that supports graphics or get a separate graphics card to get a working machine.
Will probably continue with AMD in the future.
Must be very interesting to see what the new Ryzen 3000 series can mean.
