Good experience when they work. Unfortunately, they bug a lot. The sound often disappears after 5-10 minutes of play and you have to restart to get it back. Some crashes also occur where the image locks you.

Bought for about SEK 4,700 on Oculus' website. Compared to the HTC Vive and Valve Index that I played with friends. Good: Sharp image and good lenses, very similar to Index. Easy installation Good tracking and you avoid base stations Fits well and nice Intuitive comfortable controls Pass-trough function which is very useful Could have been better: The sound. I highly recommend headphones The strap that runs on top of the head does not seem to have such good quality FOV at 90 degrees. Clear difference from Index approx. 130 LCD panel and not OLED. Clearly noticeable in eg Vader Immortal in dark scenes. Good to know: People with different distances between the eyes have experienced the image as sharp in me even though I have not adjusted IPD (which can only be done with software). A seven-year-old has played without problems (however, had to wear a hat to make his skull bigger) In summary, in my opinion the most affordable and flexible VR solution for computers. Recommended! Update: since facebook login will be mandatory from 2023 for us who have an existing Oculus, I will then change brand because facebook software is spying on one.

I am very pleased. There's not much I bother with this headset. Everything is good! Incredibly easy to boot compared to other VR headsets.

Bought this during Black Friday and after running now for a few weeks I can only recommend this product! The choice fell on this one instead of Oculus Quest, although Quest has higher resolution, Rift S has denser pixel density and better colors. Being able to connect VR directly to the computer via USB 3 and the display port into the graphics card gives you a great experience. Quest has its fiber-optic USB 3 cable which will be released soon, but it won't give as sharp a picture as Rift S. Have driven with PSVR before and this is not comparable. A headset that connects directly to a gaming PC provides a truly powerful experience compared to PSVR and other non-PC devices. This headset is easy to install and use, does not feel uncomfortable on the head, and the built-in sound is well thought out but not so powerful ... but this they have solved by having headphone jack on the side of the headset so you can switch whichever headphones you want . So smooth that you can draw out the playing area and it tells when you are close to going outside the game area. You can pick up a menu button to bring up your desk to do things if needed without having to take off the headset, and the feature that you get a form of '' nightvision '' view through the cameras located on the headset is a big plus, to be able to look around the room you are in. Not having to remove the VR glasses when you need to look at the computer, or having to see something in the room you are in is a big plus for me! The controls are really nice and responsive. VR is far from perfect still, but on the right track and Oculus Rift S gives you among the best experiences you can get today if you have the computer that can handle them. I give 5 out of 5 for the price is very good during read days where you can get it for a thousand less, or sometimes via the Oculus website. Had wanted to give 4 out of 5 due to the sound, but give 5 out of 5 because I am so happy with it and do not have much negative to say.

Awesome headset with only a few drawbacks, but for this price (from oculus.com) you can't complain. + Really good resolution and sharpness. Don't miss the OLED. + Lightweight, you are not bothered by the weight or clumsiness which several other headsets have problems with. + Inside out tracking is so much smoother than outside in. -No cooling / ventilation and fairly tight fit over the face makes it very hot for longer sessions. -The tracking of the controls is good under normal circumstances, but in e.g. beat saber I sometimes lose position when I hit things far out in the edges. -The controls are small, if you have bigger hands it can be uncomfortable and clumsy.

+ Easy installation + Phenomenal quality of lenses / panels against the previous generation. + The choice to run with an LCD panel instead of OLED is a step in the right direction for the detail level + Minimal with good rays and wide sweetspot + The price is just right, especially under BF (4200 SEK). + Really comfortable to wear + Tracking is good, but not perfect - Fixed IPD, but most can run with it -Some bit flaky to change the cushion to the face -Sound no height but is no dealbreaker, there are good solutions for sound that fits. - Tracking is good, but not perfect Hard to complain with this price tag though.

The Rift's are available directly from the oculus side for 399euro which makes the type 4200 slightly more worthwhile.

Very good VR headset. Prefer the touch controls before vives. Hand tracking through the headset instead of external cameras is messy. Shuts out much more light and weighs less than vanilla tear. BUT! It is not possible to adjust the distance between the lenses, this means that if you, like me, have a distance between the eyes that are outside the 95th percentile then you will have a much worse FOV and tunnel vision. This distracts and I almost dare to say that the experience deteriorates so much so that if you are not around 64mm between the eyes for which it is adapted, then you should look elsewhere instead. In that case, would recommend the vanilla rift that I also tested that I mentioned and did not have these problems with. I realize that the headset is better than its predecessor, for the one it fits. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them, but I love my cowardice more than cowboy book, so on the whole I'm still happy with life.

Previously had the usual Rift. Smooth with this when you don't have the sensors. And especially as I have toddlers, these are easier to pick up. Think the installation of these was much easier The picture is better than the older Rift. But no night and day difference. The headphones are in the band on these. Lighter and smoother. But you clearly hear more from the outside. Summarizes these as a small upgrade on the former Rift. Nothing to upgrade. But if you do not have an oculus then they are worth putting on a thousand sheets. You get Rift S instead of sending Rift
