After using it for five months, I think it works well overall and can, for example, clean individual rooms, but it has some shortcomings: - Loud! The fan motor is anything but silent. The wheel motors are also unnecessarily loud. We prefer not to be home when it's out cleaning. And definitely not in the same room. - Difficult to access at the far end of the wall and does not reach the corners at all. - The mopping function should rather be called "slightly moistened dust drying" because that's what it is. Not in any way comparable to what you yourself achieve with a mop. - The brush is poorly designed with narrow places where hairs wind up but where it is at the same time almost impossible to access even with a sharp knife. It is claimed that you can switch to the brush from S6 which is better designed but I have not tested that, - The brush does not protrude so much so when it steps up and starts to go with a wheel on a threshold (even low) so the brush does not reach the floor next to the threshold and there may be a dust strip left because it does not suck extremely much. That it does not access under / around furniture in the same way as an ordinary vacuum cleaner is not something to do but just accept and applies to all robots. In some cases, you may be able to put bricks under furniture legs to lift the furniture base a little, but this is not always possible. As someone else wrote, it feels appropriate to let it connect to a guest wifi.

Has lived with this for 1.5 years and is overwhelmingly positive. We run it on 100 sqm, about 2 times / week with two cats in the home. It does a good job, gets the most out of it and makes our floor stay much cleaner than with manual vacuuming. We basically only drive it when we are not at home, because it sounds a lot. Cons: * We need to clean the sensors more often than the app thinks, if we do not do it regularly it behaves awkwardly (runs away). * We have a little too high thresholds than we should, dust that accumulates in the wheel arches loosens when the robot takes over. * Long hair easily gets stuck in the main brush. No big problem in itself, but the hardest manual work.

The hardware is great, there are only two things I bother about. 1. It really should have had two side brushes. An entire wall simply does not get clean. 2. The mop function is totally unnecessary and would have preferred larger containers for dust or more powerful engine. The app on the mobile is under all critical. It's the most buggy app I have on my mobile right now and it only gets worse with each update. Sometimes you have to try up to 10 times to start the app before it even starts trying to call the robot vacuum cleaner. Thresholds: It managed 2 cm before, but that is simply no longer true due to a major update that introduced room division, which means that the vacuum cleaner turns 90 degrees along the threshold (where the room ends) and gets stuck on the threshold with the wheels in the air. For unclear reasons, the robot chooses to vacuum ~ 1 dm outside the room, which * always * is along the threshold. I suspect this is due to the lack of 2 side brushes. A huge problem that would have been easily discovered if Xiaomi had a functioning QA department. I have finally switched to thin sill tiles, so now the problem is out of the world in my current apartment. Overall, it gets a weak 3rd, because I so rarely need to vacuum anymore. However, the frustration over how Xiaomi has chosen to support this model is palpable and will only get worse and worse. And for god's sake, put the robot on its own isolated guest wifi, so that it does not have access to your other devices. All traffic is via WAN anyway.

Until you get a robotic vacuum cleaner you do not know what you are going to lose, so sick to have the walking person at home when you are at work. When you get home it is clean and fresh and all the dust that is usually in the corners after a week is completely gone. Plus, with the update that came out a month ago, S5an can now also map out rooms that you can freely divide or put together. Just had it for a while so we'll see how it stands in the future.

Can not handle doors between 1.5 and 2cm even with built-in carpets. Software is not robust and drawing of the house disappears time and time again. Get stuck 3-7 times on each cleaning. No-Go zones disappear and need to be updated every time. Our old Samsung was significantly better.

Bought it a week ago and can only say that it has worked beyond expectation. Had zero control over how good a robotic vacuum cleaner would be, but had my idea that some would not be able to match a corded vacuum cleaner. S5 max I am really happy with. Quick installation and good app. Uses the "rope" system to navigate forward. A push of a button will vacuum it all the rooms until it is finished or they are about 20% battery left so it goes to the charging station and then returns to cleaning where it ended. Can even control manually with three buttons or joystick in the app, very fun and smooth if you need to clean something up quickly. The mop function works really well. Just fill the tank with water, attach the mop and choose the water flow in the app. In the app you can choose areas that should not be moped or vacuumed. Best purchase in a long time. Had easily bought one more just because it exceeded my expectations so much. 10/10

Perfect for a spring lgh. We have a 2a about 60 sqm. Everyone should have one like this. Worth every penny. As long as this is available for purchase, I recommend this one over the S6an.
