PRICESPY TRANSPARENCY PLEDGE
At PriceSpy, we believe it’s important for you to understand how we work. That’s why we’ve created the PriceSpy Pledge, where you’ll find everything you need to know about how PriceSpy operates.
Our main mission has always been to help consumers make better decisions. Since our start in 2002, this has been our biggest motivator.
To succeed, we need a sustainable business model. Without revenue, it would be impossible to continue offering our services.
The retailers listed on PriceSpy pay when you click through to their stores. We also earn money through ads and some partnerships, such as selling aggregated data to the industry.
How we make money
✔ Retailers pay when you click through to their stores.
✔ We sell advertisements.
✔ We sell insights.
Just like PriceSpy is free for consumers, it’s also free for retailers to list their products and prices on our platform. Our goal is to show all the products and prices we know of within the categories we work in.
However, we offer retailers something called profiling. Profiling provides several benefits, which also positively impact our users. For instance, profiled retailers can display their logos alongside prices, add a short description of their competitive advantages, and access tools to respond to reviews and analyse performance.
Most importantly, profiled retailers have a “Go to Store” button next to their prices, allowing users to click directly from PriceSpy to the retailer’s website. Retailers pay a fixed cost per click for this feature, which varies depending on the product category. There are no other fixed fees beyond the cost-per-click.

Like many other media companies, we earn money from advertisements. Most of these are bought by manufacturers, brands, and retailers. Ads are displayed on our homepage, category pages, and product pages, among other locations. We offer a variety of sizes and placements, with prices varying accordingly.
It’s important to us that users can clearly distinguish ads from non-sponsored content. To ensure transparency, all advertisements are clearly labelled as “ads.”
Our database contains a wealth of information, including product prices, stock levels, and price adjustments from a wide range of retailers. It also shows which products, categories, and price ranges are the most popular. This information is freely available for all users to explore via our services.
For retailers and manufacturers who want to dive deeper, we compile and sell aggregated reports. These reports might include files with pricing, popularity trends, and stock availability.
However, we never sell personal data. We don’t sell information about what individual users have viewed, saved, or tracked. All data we sell is aggregated and anonymised. For example, popularity data only shows the overall trends for all users combined, without any individual identifiers.
We believe it’s important for you to understand how we work. You’ll find all the details in our transparency pledge.
