Apple presents the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and the iPhone 8 Plus

Apple has presented three new mobile phones. Just as expected, it’s the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and the iPhone 8 Plus that finally have been unveiled. Three talked-about phones with a design that was almost entirely leaked ahead of its launch.

Starting with the iPhone X, the flagship of the three, worth mentioning is that the phone has a 5.8-inch OLED display. This is brand new for Apple and a big improvement from today's LCDs image quality. Not least with support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Underneath the display you’ll find the new generation Apple A11 processor, and the phone will be the first to use Face ID technology to identify the user.

The iPhone X is also Apple’s first phone with a display that stretches all the way across the front of the phone, and has True Tone functionality. There is no home button and therefore no fingerprint reader. The phone has a dual 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 7-megapixel front camera.

As the cheapest iPhone X model has an entry-level price of £999, many of you will probably choose the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus instead, two phones with similar features to the existing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but with several improvements.

The design of the new phone is almost identical to its predecessor, but what differs is that the latest models have a glass back design. The reason for the choice of materials is that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus support wireless charging.

Inside the chassis, you’ll find a similar Apple A11 processor like in the iPhone X, with 25 percent higher performance than last model's Apple A10 processor. The screens are traditional LCD models and come in sizes 4.7 and 5.5 inches. In addition, the cameras have improved with enhanced optics, better camera sensors, and faster video recording in 4K resolution.

The price tags for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus start at a whopping £699 and £799 respectively, for 64 gigabytes of storage. It’s possible to get 256 gigabytes, but the prices will increase to £849 and £949.

We have just mentioned some of the major news in very simple terms. For more information, visit Apple's official site. You can view current prices and monitor the release of the phones through the product pages on PriceSpy: iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
