+ Picture perfect with UHD bluray, new colors, deeper blacks and details.
+ Regular bluray ok, depending on the film quality.
+ Perfect sound and audio pass to the amplifier with HD audio.
    4k + netflix
    + Viaplay
    YouTube 4k +
    + 2 pcs. HDMI out
    + Have Google Chrome browser

    - It sounds when reading discs
    - The fan sounds slightly
    - It is not straight but curved front
    - Did not Anynet + to work, perhaps my TV
    - Screen miror is good but lacks chromecast functions.
    - Lack cmore app
    - The remote is too small and fastforward bothersome.
    - HDMI cables are not included in the package
    - Sometimes the image becomes black when changing the HDMI source and go back to the player. may HDCP 2.2 issue.

I have a Samsung plasma TV with 1080p and HDMI 1.3 but the picture is 15-20% better with uhd filmena, though these will be downscaled to FHD.

Do you want better picture than bluray, you will not regret it. But uhd films are expensive and can not be transferred to NAS yet.

Has played four films - now refuses to play the 5th ... Say it's wrong format or damaged disc ... On a completely newly opened record ... Gets a little afraid of the dark ... We'll see if I can get it going ...

Tried to email Samsung Support - by far the worst support page I've seen so far ... Despite login must be age all the information again. Additionally, enter the product serial number at least 2 times. And once you're done - so says the "time-out, or the equivalent," and you have to start all over again ... Apparently, you just want the customer prior to purchase, once you are deceived as to ignore the customer ... have no previous experience of Samsung, but this is supposed to be the first and only time.

And now it has worked again ... let it start and stop a lot of times, and now it seems to work out ... hope it lasts ...

So now I finally had time to try both downsized UHD movies, Netflix streaming 3D Blu-ray standard Blu-ray.

The player who I compare to my home is my Marantz ud7007 that cost 5990kr when I bought it, that I gave to 2490kr including 3st UHD movies.

UHD downscaled to 1080p: It beats anything I've seen before, colors are better, sharper picture and deeper blacks also as I said just have a 1080p projector.

Blu-ray and 3D is no difference between the players of quality, but both show a very nice picture.

When streaming from Netflix so happens, however, things Samsun Gens advantage where the quality is smooth and very sharp and good image is obtained with. There is Marantzen much worse when it may lose in quality of picture and can sometimes lock themselves even suspect that it is bad network card in the or the app they use defective.

If you look at the build quality wins the Marantz ud7007 when the sled and the reader is robust and silent and the whole player is solidly built.

Conclusion: do not worry about the reader can sometimes bring a little noise and the player looks a bit plasticky out, so the Samsung UBD-k8500 a highly skilled player who really gives a good image and a great experience with both film and streaming!

In a true UHD I can only imagine that the picture is fabulously good.

only capable of a bit rate of 80 Mbps on UHD bluray and HEVC codec, this is not the future of safe and sustainable in even a week.
bit rate must be up to 92 or 123 Mbps ....

Well, not entirely happy with the player; should be better for the money. Left back machine.
The sound is pretty bad, reminiscent of a cheap CD player
The picture is very good if the disk permits!
    Missing completely display, sorry
A little buggy sw even if it is updated, if one starts with the disc already so says NO DISC sometimes.
The remote is a chapter in itself, far too little and takes a coin cell battery with a battery cover that must be turned with a coin or similar.
Top panel is made of metal, looks pretty good.
Feels like they skimped a bit too much on the player during development.
Menu looks good and feels modern. But did not play AVCHD files at all from the NAS.
