Last orders please
Final pre-Christmas shipping dates to countries including the US are now already closed and there have been a number of warnings over recent weeks about the Christmas rush happening earlier this year. With warehouses suffering backlogs caused by COVID delays, be sure to get your festive orders in this week to avoid disappointment. Final second class postage with Royal Mail is this Friday, 18th December, and couriers like DHL are warning that this year is set to be busier than ever.
How we’re shopping this year
Our recent consumer survey revealed that we usually do our Christmas shopping one month before Christmas. Interestingly, those aged between 45 and 54 years old are the most likely to leave their shopping to just a week before. So, if you’re a last-minute shopper, be sure to heed our advice on posting dates! With shops closed until early December, it’s unsurprising that this year 48 per cent will buy more online. And with Christmas in the UK limited to three households, it seems we’ll be saving money, with 28% of us buying less overall.
Relax and enjoy the season
At the end of what has been one of the strangest years of many of our lives, being able to share gifts with the people we love may feel more important than ever. But this is a time for fun, relaxation and a reset for the year ahead. Avoid the urge to spend more than you’re comfortable with and especially steer clear of paying over the odds for something that will be enjoyed just as much if received a few weeks later.
Wishing you a very happy holiday from everyone at PriceSpy and we look forward to hunting for more deals together in 2021.
