Has for many years been thinking that I should have a helmet, but it has not happened. The I tried has not really been that close tightly by the ears, and I hate it when it pulls.
A while ago, I read that helmets from Sweet Protection has received very good results in tests and started to look for them. Tried both Igniter and Trooper with the latter suited me best. Was a bit bad with the range of colors in which I tried first ...
When I would Trysil later, I thought that they might have a good selection of Juls Sports (at Fjell, Expressen), given that Sweet Protection is Norwegian and is headquartered in Trysil, and it turned out to be true.
The person who helped me try out was very knowledgeable and immediately saw the trooper did not fit my head, it squeezed on the forehead. He said immediately that I would have a rooster, and it fitted perfectly; even though we went down a size. The difference will be that the Rooster is more oval and therefore took my head better.
Juls Sports has bought up all remaining layer of the Rooster 2015 and selling them now for the 2000 NOK, a bargain considering the previous price.
If you feel like the new Rooster (MIPS), I think he said 2800 NOK for them, which is a really good price it. The seller felt that I would have the old.
It is a bit difficult with goggles to helmets from Sweet Protection when they go down more at the front than many other helmets. Oakley Canopy (with PRIZM lens) fits perfectly with just a small slit on each side so it was a couple of those too.
Have only been able to test a few days yet, but it worked well even in -15 with only a thin buff up on your ears. Felt good with the helmet on and it did not attract much about the ears.
So although I can not compare with other helmets, there must be an unequivocal recommendation for the Rooster, especially at the price you can buy them now. It is clearly more than what many other helmets cost, but this is really good helmets also are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
