Have had the phone in just over 3 months, and can confirm that Sony worked up on some points then I tried disaster Xperia S.
Here are my thoughts on - the exterior:
First and foremost, they have solved the main problem - the screen.
The now very pleasant screen is both bright and displays vibrant and accurate colors than their predecessors. Furthermore, the viewing angles are considerably better than before.
Glasbaksidan is not my favorite. Has several times been about to drop your phone when it is extremely slippery on both sides and glasbaksidan But everything was better with a M3 machine from dbrand.
The buttons are very small and it is basically impossible to bring the phone in your pocket, which is a plus in my opinion. Do you contrast function "double-tap to bring" the risk is greater, however.
The phone's speaker is nothing to hang on the Christmas tree right away, even if it's stereo speakers. They lack depth and bass, in addition to vibrate the entire phone if you hold on to the max.
Ear part of the conversation is approved, not bad and not great.
Do not try to play any sound with your phone, it sounds absolutely no good. Compressed and tinny, not surprising given that Mike probably are inside some kind of water protection.
The absolute worst piece of Z2ans exterior is loading door / SIM slot.
It has a tendency to open up very easily when you have the phone in a roomy pocket.
Wished that it would be a little harder to get up considering that the phone is classified as waterproof.
Whether the right is waterproof or not, I have not really a good answer.
Accidentally spilling a full glass of beer on your phone just when unpacking (haha) but it was for it and I just wiped of it afterwards.
And now my thoughts about - the Inside material:
Sony's touch in Android's interface IOM Xperia UI is the least sparse and minimalist.
At the moment I still have Android 4.4.4 KitKat then I think Lollipop update seems to lack some important features.
Everything goes fast and the system feels crisply, at least in Sony's own menus and programs. Some smålagg occurs, however, when scrolling in eg Google Play or YouTube, but nothing to disturb the overall experience.
One detail that surprised me, however, is that the interface is very toughly with popups, messages and push notes before been overcome all that. Nearly Samsung warning regarding this detail, but it is somsagt off and edit out these.
I've heard people talk about the good that Sony let their phones to be free of bundled software from different manufacturers (so-called bloatware), which is a big lie. Where quite surprised when a very large amount Bloatware followed when I started it up. And people talk badly about Samsung ..... Huh ... Got to remove or disable a little over half of the programs before I spent happy.
Otherwise, it starts / wake your phone very quickly, no delays whatsoever.
Battery life is well accepted, landing at about 8 days 5h screen time when you just have GSM enabled.
Otherwise, it will last ca1,5 day 4h screen time with 3G / 4G running - normal use.
When it comes to the audio portion so I thought I would be struck by such a first-class ...
But tji what I deceived me.
First and foremost send Sony a couple of stone shells from 1998 is beneath contempt, so I plugged in my MDR-NC033 and thought they would work as expected when they are actually NoiseCanceling lurking from the A845 Walkman player.
But ... nope, they work but gets detected as errors lurking. Noise-cancel-mode does not work near as good as my 5 year old Walkman X1050. Sent then specific newest handsets that actually come with the phone in other countries (NC31EM) which incidentally not sound as good musically, however, works NoiseCanceling a aaaning better.
The absence of base also made me disappointed. Even if you poked around in the sound settings, I thought that there was much bass. Installed as a third-party app that fixed at least that part. I expected actually more of Sony.
Then we come to the camera part, which is actually the biggest disappointment.
However much the Sony brags about how good their optics and the camera holds over 20 megapixels, I can not help but notice how bad the camera is actually ...
It's hard to focus, can not take pictures with some modes of 8MP, have heat problems, huge problems with autofocus when shooting, low color and bright films and miserable user menus.
Quite to hell if I may say so.
However, as the camera starts quickly with the dedicated camera button ... but also starts just in 8mp Auto Mode - ALWAYS, which is disappointing that you can not switch to it to start in such 15mp widescreen mode ...
LED "flash" is a big joke. It is so weak that you can almost mistake it for a tea light.
In other works so all other wireless features such as Bluetooth, WiFi, GSM, 3G, 4G and GPS just as expected. No problem.
All in all, I can say that it is a pretty solid heavy and well built phone with some flaws.
