Bought two pieces, had two WD Green WD40EZRX 64MB 4TB in each LinkStation 220 8TB. Had hoped for Red disks but had no such luck.
Bought this because it was cheaper than buying loose hard drives. 2690: -
I want a NAS for storing media and documents, with fast transmission through LAN. You should also be able to access when you are outside the local network.
While I had bought this so I studied it in and tested, came up with this:
- Nas is not exactly user-friendly. During a week's time had much trouble.
It turned out to be more complicated than necessary to configure this Buffalo.
To put torrent client went fairly smoothly, but there are some problems that the download folder you specify other than to create the folder "Transmission" in it. Nor can change the settings for this in the WebUI. Nor is it possible to open .json files with settings when you do not have any rights to it, even while logged in as admin.
- No support for RSS.
- WebGUI did not look like the Buffalo website and FAQ, so it's a bit difficult to use it for help, while not the most features available.
- Transfer rates are beneath contempt, 15-20 MB / s on average in a gigabit network. Has once again come up to 30MB / s.
I hope that it will be any good offer on Synology NAS during Black Friday. Have heard that Synology is easy to set up.
